Effective date: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TimeLog and its Widget extension (collectively, "TimeLog") handle information. TimeLog is provided by LIU ZHIQING ("we," "us," or "the developer").
The current public version of this policy is available at https://dbms.online/timelog/privacy-policy.
Summary
TimeLog is designed to work without an account or developer-operated server. The current version does not include advertising, analytics, tracking technology, or third-party software development kits. Your time records and settings remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
Information Processed on Your Device
TimeLog processes and stores the following information locally so that its features can work:
- activity names, icons, colors, goals, and archive status;
- time-entry start and end times, durations, pause status, categories, and notes;
- Pomodoro durations, rounds, alert preferences, and current timer state;
- widget and Live Activity snapshots;
- appearance, week-start, and onboarding preferences; and
- temporary CSV exports and statistics images that you choose to create.
This information may describe your routines or activities and should be treated as private. TimeLog does not transmit these records to the developer.
Storage and Device Services
TimeLog stores app data in the app's local container and shared App Group container using Apple system technologies such as SwiftData and UserDefaults. The current version does not configure iCloud or CloudKit synchronization.
Your device operating system may include app data in an encrypted device or iCloud backup according to your Apple settings. Apple, not the developer, controls those backup services.
TimeLog may use local notifications, widgets, Live Activities, the App Store review interface, and other Apple system services. Their operation depends on your device settings and Apple's terms and privacy practices. TimeLog does not receive notification, widget, Live Activity, or App Store account data from Apple.
Exporting and Sharing
TimeLog creates a CSV file or statistics image only when you request one. The file is generated locally in a temporary directory and is presented through the iOS share interface. You decide whether to share it and which person, app, or service receives it.
Once you share a file, the recipient or destination service controls its handling. Review that recipient's privacy practices before sharing sensitive records. Copies saved or sent outside TimeLog are not removed by the in-app Delete All Data function.
Support Communications
If you choose Contact Us or Report a Bug, TimeLog prepares an email that may include the app version, build number, iOS version, and general device model. You may review and edit the message before sending it.
If you send the email, your email address, message, attachments, and included diagnostic details are transmitted through your chosen mail provider and received by the developer. We use support communications only to respond, troubleshoot, maintain security, and improve TimeLog. We do not sell them or use them for advertising or tracking. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or to meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized where practical.
Do not include confidential, health, financial, employment, or other sensitive information in a support request unless it is necessary for us to assist you.
Data Collection, Sale, Tracking, and Advertising
The current version:
- does not require registration or create a user profile;
- does not operate a backend that receives your TimeLog records;
- does not include advertising or analytics SDKs;
- does not access contacts, calendars, precise location, photos, microphones, cameras, health data, payment information, or advertising identifiers;
- does not track activity across apps or websites; and
- does not sell personal information.
An optional support email is information you deliberately send outside the app. It is handled as described in the Support Communications section.
Third Parties
TimeLog does not routinely share app records with third parties. Information leaves TimeLog only when you initiate an action, such as sending support email, exporting through the share interface, or using an Apple system service. The relevant provider's terms and privacy policy then apply.
We do not authorize service providers to use support information for advertising or tracking. If TimeLog later adds a service that collects or receives user information, this policy, the in-app disclosures, the privacy manifest, and the App Store privacy responses will be updated before that service is released.
Retention and Deletion
Local records remain on your device until you:
- delete individual entries or activities where the app provides that option;
- use Settings > Delete All Data;
- remove TimeLog from the device; or
- erase or restore the device.
The developer has no server-side copy of your TimeLog database and cannot retrieve, export, correct, or delete local records remotely.
To request deletion of a support email or other information you previously sent directly to the developer, contact Enable JavaScript to view email. We may need enough information to identify the correspondence and may retain limited information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Security
TimeLog relies on Apple's app sandbox, App Group permissions, and device security protections. You are responsible for protecting your device, passcode, backups, and exported files. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
TimeLog is a general-purpose productivity utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Choices
You control whether to:
- enable notifications or Live Activities in iOS Settings;
- create or share exports;
- send a support email;
- delete local records; and
- uninstall TimeLog.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when TimeLog's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes will be presented through an appropriate in-app or App Store notice when required.
